Security and privacy are major concerns for many of our clients at The Dunes East Hampton. Because of this need, we are located on a private gated luxury estate in a secluded wooded area, complete with a perimeter security fence. The Dunes is not visible from any public area. We have rigorous policies and practices in place to ensure our client’s privacy at all times. High profile clients can reach out to The Dunes for addiction treatment with the confidence that privacy is protected. Our management and staff are trained and organized to ensure the safety of our clients.
Feeling Safe During Recovery
A major factor in our clients feeling safe at The Dunes is our policy to maintain anonymity. Many of our clients are high profile individuals. We believe the first principle of recovery is protecting the anonymity of our clients so they can focus on recovery instead of who they are. Some of the measures we take to protect anonymity is to:
- Ban the use of cell phones, computers, and cameras
- Adhere to the laws governing confidentiality — A matter of privacy concern is for confidentiality of client information. The Dunes management team strictly follows the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Title 42 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
- Know the privacy of our clients is monitored by our Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs, Dave Evans.
- Provide a vehicle and driver for pickup within a 150-mile radius from New York City –Our privacy protocol begins with the first contact from a client. All drivers and contractors must sign a confidentiality and trade secret non-discloser agreement that binds them to protect all client information. For those arriving at Kennedy, LaGuardia, Newark, and Long Island MacArthur airports, The Dunes provide a private vehicle and drivers to transport clients to our estate.
Maintaining Privacy At All Times
Occasionally, a client may need access to conduct urgent matters of business. In such a case, the Dunes management will make arrangements to our offsite conference facility, still maintaining the privacy afforded our recovering clients.
