If you’re considering an inpatient addiction treatment program at The Dunes East Hampton, you may be curious what to expect from the experience. In this entry we will offer a glimpse into our inpatient program to provide a broader view of the life-changing journey to come! – From admission and counseling, to rehab time-frame and what happens after inpatient rehabilitation.
What To Expect Upon Arrival At Our Inpatient Treatment Facility
Our inpatient rehabilitation program offers patients group and individual therapies to aid in the recovery experience. With the personal education and awareness gained during treatment, our patients can expect a higher rate of success when compared to those attempting to quit on their own accord.
Patients arriving at our inpatient addiction treatment program in New York will be expected to complete inpatient paperwork, including permission-to-treat and insurance forms. Once paperwork has been completed, luggage can be checked and room assignments provided. An individualized psychological and physical addiction assessment and substance abuse evaluation will be completed as well
During the initial stay, patient phone calls and visits are kept to a minimum. Patients are permitted to communicate with loved ones through our family counseling, alongside a licensed therapist. In this way, family members are able to hear what their loved ones are going through, and the changes taking place throughout treatment.
12 Step Meetings
Patients are also encouraged to attend 12 step meetings on a daily basis. These meetings keep our patients focused, while providing support and education to ensure a healthy transition into sobriety. In many cases, patients will continue attending 12 step meetings well after their rehab completion.
Benefits Of Addiction Counselors
Upon admission, patients are assigned addiction treatment specialists to help support and monitor treatment progress. Our counselors offer private therapy throughout the week, in addition to group and family therapy sessions.
Time Frame In an Inpatient Addiction Treatment Program
The amount of time patients spend in an inpatient addiction treatment program varies from patient to patient. Determining factors regarding patient stay include severity of the addiction, insurance/financial restrictions, and the patient’s recovery outlook. In some cases, patients may even opt to extend their rehabilitation stay in order to ensure a smooth, healthy and successful transition back into society.
Leaving Rehab
When the time comes to leave The Dunes, clients can usually expect follow-up and 12-step meetings or outpatient counseling. Maintaining sobriety can often be more difficult than slipping back into old habits. As such, it’s important for patients to continue their education and recovery methods well after they’ve left our rehabilitation program.
Setting A Life-Long Sobriety Mindset
People turn to addiction treatment programs for a variety of reasons, and unfortunately they are not always the right ones. Simply put, the recovery process will prove ineffective unless a patient is truly invested in the rehabilitation process and is open to the customized treatment they receive. Though many turn to recovery in an effort to avoid consequences of non-treatment – via family, career, court – these reasons alone will do little to ensure success in recovery without a proper mindset.
